London/ Hybrid (1-2 days per week in the office)

Salary - up to £100,000 plus discretionary annual bonus & benefits

Please note: This role requires prior/ current Bid Management experience within an insurance brokerage. Applications without this experience will not be considered, and due to high application volumes, we will not be able to respond to all unsuccessful candidates.

The role:

We’re working with a leading global insurance broker who are seeking a dynamic, strategic Bid Manager to join their Construction Division. This is a newly created role, offering the chance to take full ownership of the bid process within a highly respected team that operates across complex, international projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Own the bid process from start to finish across all construction lines: CAR, EAR, Liability, PI – globally
  • Work closely with senior leadership team, divisional management and collaborating with other Bid Managers across different business units (e.g., Energy, Property, Casualty etc) and with Sales, Marketing, Compliance, and Legal – all of whom are highly supportive
  • Project manage each bid, bringing structure, professionalism, and strategic input to elevate submissions
  • Influence how bids are approached and executed – this is your chance to make a real mark
  • No client-facing presentations needed – the focus is on content, coordination, and quality control
  • Expect to handle up to 30 bids per year, with an ambition to win 1 in 3 roughly
  • Playing a key role in shaping how the business approaches complex, multi-billion-pound construction tenders
  • Success will be measured not only by win rate, but by how you collaborate and guide senior stakeholders

What experience is needed?

  • Experience as a Bid Manager within an insurance broker is essential
  • Ideally, you’ll come from a Construction, Energy, or Natural Resources team currently, but strong candidates from Property, Liability bid teams will also be considered
  • No formal qualifications required — just a solid understanding of the insurance market and what it takes to run an effective bid process
  • Strong collaborator and communicator – able to work across departments and influence at senior level
