We have 3 part time opportunities to join our Weekend Warehouse Operative team at Upper Poppleton, York(Northminster Business Park), to support the picking and packing of our customers purchases and retail store stock deliveries.

We have 1 permanent position and 2 fixed term contracts available for the summer. The positions are offered as 16 hour per week contracts, working Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 1.30pm to 10.00pm, occasional flexibility might be required.

  • A competitive hourly rate of £12.50
  • PaSS training to increase your hourly rate to £13.00

We are looking for individuals who are happy being on their feet for long periods and enjoy a large amount of manual handling/lifting to cover the 100,000+ square foot Warehouse facility. You\'ll need to be comfortable with stairs and some heavier lifting at times, to support the warehouse with picking and packing of both home shopping and retail orders, either through our automation system or manually. There is always lots to do in our busy warehouse and of course whilst your fulfilling orders and meeting KPI’s ensuring your area is clean and tidy and following H&S policies.

Snap Shot of your duties as a Warehouse Operative Weekends:

  • Maintaining a consistent stock picking rate in line with targets
  • Manually Packing Orders following the correct procedure and maintaining packing rate targets
  • Processing Recalls and Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT’s)
  • Loading outgoing shipments onto transport & Off-loading inbound transport
  • Keeping areas clean and tidy
  • Following Company H & S policy
  • Unloading Goods in deliveries and shelving in appropriate Warehouse locations

What you’ll need to be a Weekend Warehouse Operative:

  • Good level of physical fitness with ability to use initiative whilst maintaining a positive attitude
  • Preferably have previous experience of working in a warehouse, picking and packing or retail environment
  • Able to use computers and mobile devices to basic level (training provided), with a good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Team player with good communication and timekeeping skills
