Overview: Warehouse Operative – Nights – Upper Poppleton, York. Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7 pm to 6 am (42 hours per week). First two weeks daytime for mandatory training.
Responsibilities:
- Unload goods and shelve them in the correct locations.
- Maintain put-away and stock-picking rates in line with targets.
- Load outgoing shipments onto transport and off-load inbound transport.
- Pack shop picks into default cartons for dispatch.
- Process recalls, inter-branch transfers and other special movements.
- Manually pack orders following procedure and maintain packing-rate targets.
- Keep working areas clean, tidy and safe.
- Follow company H&S policy.
Qualifications:
- Physically fit for long periods of standing, lifting, moving and operating within a 100,000+ sq-ft warehouse.
- Ability to use computers and mobile devices at a basic level (training supplied).
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience in a warehouse, picking, packing or retail environment preferred.
- Comfortable with stairs and heavier lifting (200–4000 cartons per delivery).
- Strong teamwork, communication and time-keeping skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to use initiative.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Schedule & Pay:
- Base hourly rate: £13.00 / £16.00 (night premium 10 pm-6 am).
- Pass training increases to £13.50 / £16.50 respectively.
- Hourly pay is released monthly.
- 42 hours per week across four nights.
