Your new company is a SME consultancy recognised as a leader in the construction and transportation sector, with a strong track record supporting the design and delivery of complex infrastructure, residential, and urban regeneration schemes. With offices across the UK, the business delivers a genuinely agile and multidisciplinary service, working closely with local authorities, developers, and delivery partners to help shape future-proof places that improve the lives of those who live and work in them. Recent work includes major residential-led developments and large-scale urban renewal projects across the South East and beyond.

Your new role involves expanding the Highways and Infrastructure team following the successful appointment to several new long-term frameworks and commissions in Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional ready to take the next step, working alongside a highly regarded and collaborative team on a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from residential developments to major regeneration and infrastructure schemes. You will play a key role in leading projects from early feasibility through design, approvals, and delivery, while acting as a trusted client-facing lead.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Take ownership of the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure and development projects, ensuring programme, budget, quality, and commercial objectives are met.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Clients, confidently representing the consultancy and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and reporting, including governance under NEC contracts.
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, providing guidance on best practice project management processes and tools.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where appropriate.
  • Oversee programmes of work, coordinating multiple interrelated projects and supporting consistent delivery across them.

This role will suit a personable, adaptable, and proactive individual with a strong team ethos and a desire to influence both project outcomes and wider business operations. You will be expected to support and develop your team, contribute to continuous improvement, and play an active role in work winning and client development, acting as a brand ambassador at all times.

Ideally, you will tick most of the below:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; professional qualification or working towards chartership preferred.
  • Proven experience delivering projects through feasibility, design, planning, and construction phases.
  • Experience working on residential developments and large-scale urban regeneration or renewal projects.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience of NEC forms of contract.
  • Confident in leading stakeholder engagement, including liaison with local authorities, developers, senior officers, elected members, and the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to support, mentor, and develop Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.

Why apply? You will be joining a highly motivated, professional, and supportive team, working on meaningful projects that shape places and communities.

On offer:

  • Flexible working, with access to offices in Oxfordshire
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Wellbeing and family-focused benefits, reviewed regularly to reflect individual needs
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Full professional development support, including structured routes to chartership and access to financial and professional mentors
  • Progressive leadership with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • A social, driven, and collaborative team culture
