Currently undergoing a phase of growth, they work with a wide range of clients across the UK in both the public and private sectors, delivering civil and environmental projects with a heavy focus on sustainable development. The role With a robust pipeline of interesting civil engineering and public realm design projects, the Highways Design Engineer will join the Highways and Infrastructure team and lead on the delivery of various highways design projects. You will also be tasked with managing multiple projects and leading delivery teams on schemes including town centre redevelopments, new cycle ways, civic squares, junction improvements and carriageway maintenance schemes to name a few. Your day-to-day tasks will include: Coordinating and cooperating with the Contractor throughout the design and build. Design drainage systems, including culverts, storm water management, and erosion control measures. Review and approve design drawings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements and standards. Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools to create accurate and efficient designs. Assisting the delivery team to ensure project work is technically correct Managing projects in accordance with Client requirements Helping to support junior team members to produce exceptionally high-quality outputs. About you As a Highways Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of highway projects. You will work closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and project managers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective designs that comply with relevant standards and regulations. You can tick off most of the below Strong CAD skills (Civil 3D desirable) Familiar with NEC form of contract and Document Control and Common Data Environment (CDE) software Previous experience manging project objectives, timelines, and budgets, and preparing necessary documentation while liaising with clients and stakeholders.
