Are you a design professional with contractor-side experience, ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for an Assistant Design Manager to join our expanding team, supporting the delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects across the Midlands and the North.
In this role, you will be instrumental in coordinating and managing design activities for highways, public realm, and structures schemes. Working closely with external consultants and internal teams, you will review and interpret technical information, identify design and buildability challenges, and help develop solutions that align with construction methodologies and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate design activities across multiple infrastructure projects
- Review and interpret drawings, identifying risks and proposing practical solutions
- Liaise with design consultants to ensure timely and high-quality design deliverables
- Support the Design Manager and work collaboratively with the Assistant Information Manager
- Contribute to the development of design management processes and the growth of the team
- Strong design background, ideally with contractor-side experience
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and manage design consultants
- Good understanding of construction methods and infrastructure project delivery
- Degree qualified (preferred) or able to demonstrate significant relevant experience
- Full UK driving licence
