Purpose of Role To work with the Head of Commercial with responsibility for financial matters within the Company, including the planning, management, co‑ordination, and financial control of all aspects of the budget and re‑forecasts.

Responsibilities will include development of PAUL annual budget, end of month/year reports and audit preparation within governed financial guidelines, potential future business revenue streams, management information and analysis, systems, and IT project management.

Key Objectives

  • Working with the Head of Commercial & Marketing and the finance team to provide the financial information required by the Board to make financial and strategic decisions.
  • Financial management accounting within the Company.
  • Monthly financial reporting to the UK Board.
  • Provision of management information regarding financial performance.
  • Prepare information necessary to produce annual budgets, and periodic comparison of performance against budget.
  • Re‑forecasting on a regular basis in line with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting and financial controls responsibilities.
  • Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management, and reporting, including management and development of finance policies, systems, and accounting processes.
  • Manage the budgeting and re‑forecasting process including the formulation of annual budgets and targets.
  • Manage the financial system, ensuring maximum productivity and that it meets the needs of the business today and the future.
  • Work on the preparation and submission of weekly and monthly updates and presentations of accounts with recommendations.

Procurement, Budgets: (cost controls, estate management and financial acumen)

  • Monitor and manage budgets for reactive and planned maintenance for all existing sites.
  • Oversee strategies for cost savings in utilities purchases.
  • Monitor records of maintenance expenditure, accounting, costing, and billing to be within budget.
  • Manage, track and report on all expenses and ensure that all activities are delivered within that budget.

Skills & Technical Requirements

  • An exceptional Accountant with at least 5 years’ experience in a commercial business.
  • Ideally member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or similar.
  • Excellent IT skills and use of Microsoft applications.
  • Possesses a good understanding of financial and accounting applications, programming, and databases.
  • Ability in speaking French is helpful.
