This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of London’s leading florists, managing events within the UK and internationally. As part of the management team, the successful candidate will work closely alongside our Events team in creating and delivering exceptional floral designs for a multitude of HNW clients, top venues, and leading events companies.
THE ROLE
- Manage relationships between PAUL THOMAS and clients.
- Designing and executing proposals for events, creating the floral designs, which will range from simple bud vases and buttonholes through to dramatic urns and centrepieces.
- Calculating the volumes of flowers and foliage required, ordering, and buying from the flower market and from Dutch suppliers.
- Oversee the setup and arrangement of floral displays on the day of the event. Make real-time adjustments to ensure that everything looks perfect and adheres to the original vision when onsite.
- Lead a team of florists and assistants during the event and whilst in the studio making. Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that the team works cohesively to achieve the desired results.
- Research, select, and purchase flowers from various suppliers, considering factors like freshness, quality, and seasonal availability. Develop relationships with flower growers and wholesalers to ensure a reliable supply.
- Ensuring the impeccable standards and iconic PAUL THOMAS style is reflected in every event.
- Address any unexpected challenges that may arise, such as flower availability issues or last-minute design changes. Find creative solutions while maintaining the integrity of the event's design.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and innovations in the floristry and event management industries. Integrate new ideas and techniques into your work to keep your designs fresh and appealing.
THE CANDIDATE
- Have at least 5 years’ experience within the floral and events industry.
- Must possess an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Will be comfortable with taking responsibility for managing teams and projects.
- Will need to possess first class IT skills and understanding of Microsoft Office programmes, as a large part of this role will be creating proposals and visuals for our clients.
- Will possess a genuine passion for floristry and the energy to tackle every event, large or small, with enthusiasm.
- Will have a strong grasp of the commercial side of the floristry industry.
- Ideally, but not necessarily, the candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and be happy to drive vans where necessary.
- The successful candidate should be happy with early starts and willing to work at the weekend and on projects abroad.
