Paul Smith is looking for a Retail Interior Designer who will design and implement new shop layouts and refurbishment projects in London.
Responsibilities:
- Design and produce concept, layout and detailed drawing packages for new and existing retail projects. This includes detailed furniture and fixture design, construction details and lighting layouts.
- Produce sample boards and ensure the designs meet commercial and aesthetic requirements.
- Assist with the design of refurbishments and changes to existing shops, including briefing the manufacturers, supervising installation, and resolving any problems following completion.
- Oversee multiple projects from start to finish at any one time, working with external Project Managers, Consultants and Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Attend site meetings when required, take notes and feedback to the wider team on the progress of projects.
- Work on the design of new in-store furniture, fixtures and fittings, producing high quality detailed drawings and working closely with manufacturers to ensure specifications and quality requirements are met and delivery and installation is achieved within the specified timescale.
- Contribute in maintaining a library of samples of materials.
- Keep up to date with new trends, materials and ideas with a relevance to shop design.
- Assist with “one off” or special projects from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in retail and furniture design, ideally with a qualification in Architecture or Interior, Product or Furniture design.
- Highly computer literate with experience using Vectorworks. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Cinema 4D and SolidWorks would be a plus.
- Strong project management skills, with experience working at every stage of the design process, from concept to completion.
- Skilled in producing accurate and detailed design drawings that bring design concepts to life.
- Experience managing relationships with manufacturers and external contractors.
- A team player, who enjoys working with others and thrives in a team environment.
