We have a rare opportunity for an Assistant Merchandise Planner to join our Merchandising team in London. This role will work on our Full Price collections, trading our products to their best potential from budgeting and range review to clearance. You will use your merchandising expertise to meet financial targets and ensure optimum stock flow, so this role would suit an experienced MAA or AM who is looking for a new challenge.

The Role

  • Ensure the critical path is followed and all deadlines are met.
  • Use knowledge of internal and external trends and factors to ensure all financial targets and objectives are understood and met.
  • Take ownership of linecards and continuity stock replenishments, setting the budget according to sales forecast and key stock metrics.
  • Review and manage stock and financials on a rolling basis and flag or action any concerns immediately and in weekly trade.
  • Prepare a budget plan for seasonal buys and see the process all the way through to size scaling, post buy review and extra budget requests.
  • Liaise with Production and the Warehouse on deliveries.
  • Ensure all relevant reporting is run on time and kept up to date.
  • Ensure sales run smoothly and stock is effectively liquidated whilst maintaining margin.
  • Work with Operations and Logistics teams to ensure stock processes are planned, managed and executed efficiently.
  • Help manage, train and coach the Merchandising Assistants and oversee their day-to-day tasks.

About you

  • Proven experience as a Merchandising Assistant or Assistant Merchandiser, working in a fashion or retail environment.
  • Skilled at working with data, creating reports and carrying out financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTable, VLOOKUP etc).
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills and experience working to set deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of the fashion and lifestyle market in the UK and internationally.
