Valeter
Paul Rigby Ltd is seeking a reliable and detail-focused Valeter based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. This role is important for maintaining vehicle presentation standards that support customer satisfaction and the dealership’s professional image.
Purpose of the role
The Valeter is responsible for preparing vehicles to showroom and delivery standard, ensuring cars are clean, presentable and ready for customers and transport. You will play a key part in the customer experience by delivering consistently high standards of vehicle appearance and care.
Key responsibilities
- Wash, dry and polish vehicles inside and out to company presentation standards.
- Vacuum, shampoo and condition interiors, including fabric and leather care.
- Perform minor cosmetic repairs such as paintwork touch-ups and wheel cleaning where trained and authorised.
- Inspect vehicles for damage, report discrepancies and follow safe handling procedures.
- Prepare vehicles for customer collection and for photographic or transport requirements.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, and keep work areas tidy and safe.
- Follow environmental and waste disposal procedures applicable to valeting work.
Essential skills and experience
- Previous experience in vehicle valeting, detailing or a related automotive role.
- Good attention to detail and pride in delivering consistent, high-quality results.
- Ability to work at a steady pace and manage time across multiple vehicles.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safe handling practices.
- Physical fitness for standing, bending and lifting required by valeting duties.
- Reliable attendance and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience with machine polishing, paint correction or ceramic coating application.
- Familiarity with dealership processes and vehicle handover checklists.
- Valid driving licence for moving vehicles within site areas.
Qualifications
- No specific formal qualifications are required, though relevant vocational training or certifications in vehicle valeting, detailing or vehicle care are advantageous.
What the organisation offers
Employment type: Full-time, Permanent.
Pay: £26,436.80 to £26,436.80 per annum.
