Overview
We are hiring multiple Pastry Assistants on a 2-month contract to help create one of the season’s favorites—mince pies. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our festive bakes are produced to the highest standard and on time, while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Paul’s ambition when he started the bakery was simple: to provide London’s busy chefs with the best handcrafted bread, made from the finest ingredients possible and traditional techniques. Today, as the bakery heads towards twenty-five years in business, the goal remains the same and this ambition underpins everything we do. We have both a wholesale business supplying some of London’s top restaurants, hotels, cafés, and entertainment venues, as well as our local retail bakery shop which is based a ten-minute walk up the road, in Greenwich Market. Key Responsibilities
- Create festive mince pies ahead of the Christmas rush.
- Ensure all pies meet our set quality standards and are produced according to daily orders.
- Handle large production volumes efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and well-maintained.
Personal Attributes & Skills
- No baking experience needed; would be appreciated if you have one but not compulsory.
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or food production environment.
- Comfortable operating electric bread ovens.
- Knowledge of food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to multitask, plan, and manage high-volume production.
Contract Details
- Contract length: 2 months.
- Shifts: 8/9 AM – 5/6 PM, 5 days per week – Fridays and Saturdays off.
- Pay: £12.21 per hour.
