This is an SME style business that punches way above its fighting weight in the FMCG food market. It still operates as an autonomous division of a Food group and has created a niche that has earned the respect of its customers through continuously creating fantastic solutions for its consumers. Its success has been delivered through real innovation across its chosen chilled and frozen categories.
Rather than tinker on the edges, this management team lead with their conviction and create brand new concepts. Therefore, to continue this success, the NPD Director wishes to appoint an NPD process development technologist who will work as part of the innovation and development team whilst interacting across the factory and commercial functions to deliver groundbreaking solutions.
Through a team you will manage the concept to launch platform and implement process controls to enable the delivery of the high‑quality standards to enable maximum and on‑time effective delivery into production planning within the factory. The Concept – Process interaction capability is key within a business which is growing at 40% YoY and has gained several new retailer listings in the last 12 months.
You will be as comfortable “in the kitchen bench” as you are embedding factory activities that will create inspiring products for their consumers and increase efficiencies in the throughput from development to factory output.
Whilst you may not necessarily have had exposure to all these in your career, as training can be provided, you will have the aptitude to create exciting new ideas and lead development of new concepts to launch.
This is an environment for those earning freedom from the corporate glue of large multinationals as there will be few “policies and procedures” but plenty of freedom. So, you must be self‑organised and motivated to deliver in a fast‑paced and uncompromising environment.
With 3‑5 years’ experience of NPD innovation or technical development, this will provide an opportunity to develop your career and lead to future promotion.
