The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.
You will have responsibility for our accounts, finance, and tax operations while leading improvements in processes and systems. This is a hands-on role, where you will be expected to actively manage the department and own the numbers. You will also be responsible for maintaining and enforcing robust financial control. You will be operating in a fast-paced environment, and you will need to be very organised, have strong Excel skills, and be experienced at delivering numbers to the Board. Attention to detail is key and all deadlines, tax, statutory, and internal must be met. You will have the support of a part-time Finance Director and one of the owners who is currently responsible for this area.
Main Duties (include but are not limited to):
- Actively overseeing the month-end process and preparing monthly management accounts, with the ability to step in for cover during holidays or sickness.
- You must understand the numbers and be able to present them to the Board and be able to answer any queries related to the numbers in the meeting.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Conducting financial analysis and reporting, including sales and margin performance.
- Managing tax and compliance in the UK and across international locations and meeting all tax deadlines with the help of outside professionals.
- Managing the cash cycle and ensuring efficient working capital management.
- Overseeing business insurance coverage.
- Securing R&D tax credits with the help of outside experts.
- Leading the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits, and liaising with external auditors.
- Developing and maintaining forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).
- Managing the Overseas Accounts team (7 including a Management Accountant).
- Ensuring accurate and timely intergroup charges.
- Maintaining a fixed assets register.
- Managing credit control processes.
- Leading process improvements within the finance function.
Skills and Qualifications:
- ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualification.
- Proven skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, coordinate, communicate, and lead teams as well as being highly organised and structured.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a hands-on capacity and like doing the detail.
- Be able to present numbers and having done the detail to answer all related queries.
- High-level Excel skills and thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge, hold accountable, and work effectively with senior management.
- A responsive, flexible attitude while maintaining the gatekeeper role for financial integrity.
- Ability to make the Finance Team a key, valued partner in the business's success.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and flexible to change.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Energy and initiative, with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to tasks.
- Hard-working and prepared to take a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role.
- Ideally but not essential experience of managing an overseas accounts team.
