I am a 42 year old male looking for a self-employed support worker to support me socially in County Durham, Gateshead, and Newcastle areas. This includes accompanying me to bingo, cinema, and meals out. Hours vary, typically after 5 PM on weekdays and weekends during the day or evening. This role is once a week and a DBS check is required. This paid by Direct Payments. I get so many hours per week paid by my local council.
**Duties & Requirements:**
- Assist with **transportation to venues.
Personal care when needing the bathroom (is a must).
Provide guidance and support when I’m out due to my visual impairment**.
- Help with reading menus and helping me with money when and if needed.
- Offer general assistance with daily activities as needed.
- Assist with mobility and and accessibility support when required.
- Must be empathetic, willing to learn, and listen to my needs.
- Experience of people with a learning disability is preferred but not essential.
