Interaction Recruitment are hiring for an experienced Transport Planner to join our clients team in Woodford Halse. They are a very busy family business and are in need of someone who has strong experience planning routes for drivers.
Due to the location, you will need your own vehicle.
The Responsibilities
- Planning the vehicle routes in an efficient and effective manner
- Ensuring that realistic time frames have been given between driving locationsManaging and planning of emergency orders
- Monitoring & managing information from the vehicle telematics system.
- Ensuring customer requirements are being adhered to
- Ensuring that the drivers are operating in a compliant fashion
- Briefing and debriefing drivers to ensure that all instructions for their allocated runs are understood and actioned.
- Responding promptly to route feedback and ensuring improvement opportunities are acted upon
- Ensuring all key vehicle information is kept up to date on the system relating to delivery points.
- Making sure that operational procedures and general housekeeping are kept to a high standard.
- You will be the main point of communcation for all customers and so must be a good communicator
- Liasing with Customer
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Transport Planner role will have the following skills and experiences:
At least 2- 3 years Transport Planning experience within a logistics and distribution industry & general haulage transport.
- Previous experience in utilising any TMS Systems and other bespoke systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Real team player who thrives in a fast-paced, busy, and challenging environment.
- Highly organised with proven ability to plan and prioritise your workload and work calmly and methodically in a busy environment and flexible as and when there\’s some changes with plans
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, notably Excel with strong attention to detail.
- Great Customer Service
