Management Accountant | Middlesbrough £45,000-£50,000 | Study Support | Career Progression How often does a Management Accountant role give you the opportunity to work directly alongside the CFO, with the chance to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility? Perhaps you've recently qualified, you're approaching the end of your studies, or you're ready for more than your current role can offer. We're partnering with a successful, family-owned manufacturing business in Middlesbrough that has experienced significant growth. You'll work directly alongside the CFO as their key support within finance, taking ownership of management accounting and gaining exposure to wider financial and commercial decisions. Why Join? Here's how the CFO describes working for the business: "We've grown significantly as a business, and there's still plenty we want to achieve. It's a hands-on environment where people can make a real difference, and there's a genuine opportunity to grow with us." Rather than joining a finance function where everything is already established, you'll have the opportunity to improve reporting, develop processes and help shape how finance supports the business as it grows. You'll also gain valuable experience working closely with senior leadership, with opportunities to broaden your responsibilities as you develop. The Role You'll take ownership of key accounting and reporting activities, including: Monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations. Product costings, stock valuations and margin analysis. Weekly financial and operational reporting. Bringing outsourced accounting activities in-house. Improving financial systems and processes. You'll work closely with operational teams, understanding how production costs, materials and labour influence profitability. About You You'll have hands-on manufacturing accounting experience, ideally including product costing, strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge and advanced Excel skills. You could be fully qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or AAT qualified with the practical accounting experience to back it up. If you don't have formal accounting qualifications but have gained the relevant skills and experience throughout your career, we'd still love to hear from you. What matters most is your ability to get into the detail, take ownership and understand the numbers behind the business. If you're looking for greater responsibility, direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to develop your career as the business grows, we'd love to hear from you.
