Ready to step up from Senior AP into a leadership role, or looking for a position where you can make a bigger impact? This is an opportunity to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy Accounts Payable function while remaining hands-on. You'll coordinate workflow, support and develop the team, solve problems before they escalate, and help shape improvements that make the whole purchase-to-pay process more efficient. If you enjoy leading by example rather than title alone, this could be the move you've been looking for.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee the daily flow of invoices through to payment, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time and in line with company procedures.
- Manage workloads and support the AP team, becoming the first point of contact for more complex supplier queries, approval issues and process challenges.
- Work closely with Procurement and other departments to improve processes, support month-end activities, validate payment runs and provide operational cover for the AP Manager when needed.
- Coach and support colleagues, helping new starters settle in and experienced team members continue to develop.
What we're looking for
- Solid Accounts Payable experience and comfort coordinating the work of others, whether as a Team Leader, Senior AP Clerk or similar position.
- Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable knowledge.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion would be advantageous).
- Confidence dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Good Excel and general IT skills.
- A proactive approach to improving processes and solving problems.
- The ability to stay organised and calm in a high-volume environment.
