Tired of being just another cog in the machine?

Make sure to apply quickly in order to maximise your chances of being considered for an interview Read the complete job description below.

If you\’ve ever worked in a role where your attention to detail went unnoticed or where flexibility was just a buzzword, this might be the fresh start you\’ve been waiting for.

We\’re supporting a well-established manufacturing business in the North East to recruit a capable and organised Accounts Assistant, someone confident with the numbers, but just as comfortable handling general admin tasks that keep the office running smoothly.

This isn\’t a corporate machine. It\’s a small business where your input will be seen, your efforts will be appreciated, and your role will genuinely make a difference.

What\’s in it for you?

Part-time hours, on your terms: You\’ll work around 25 hours a week, with flexibility to shape the working pattern around your other commitments, whether that\’s school runs, caring responsibilities or simply a better work-life balance.
Built-in holidays: Factory shutdowns in August and December mean you\’re off during school holidays and over Christmas, no battles for time off.
Variety: You won\’t be chained to one repetitive task. From supporting the General Manager, liaising with suppliers, to helping with credit control, no two days are the same.
Responsibility and trust: You\’ll be the go-to person for keeping operations smooth and finances in check. Trusted to get things done your way.
A grounded, supportive team: You\’ll join a friendly group where you\’re valued and your voice counts.

You\’ll be doing things like:

Managing the day-to-day admin, calls, emails, schedules, filing and all the bits that keep things ticking.
Keeping tabs on sales invoices, petty cash, and reconciling the bank accounts.
Liaising with suppliers, customers, and external accountants.
Supporting with VAT, payroll, and monthly reports, not leading them, just making sure they\’re accurate and ready.

What you\’ll need:

Experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Sage 50 would be an advantage, but it\’s not essential.
The ability to manage your own time and juggle tasks without being micro-managed.
A genuine eye for detail and the kind of attitude that spots problems before they happen.Whether you\’re looking for fewer hours, more flexibility, or just a job where what you do matters, this could be the one.
