This isn’t your average Project Accountant role. If you’re looking for a job where you sit in the corner updating spreadsheets and getting ignored until month-end, this isn’t it. This is a genuinely commercial, high-visibility finance role in a fast-growing engineering and manufacturing business where projects drive everything. You’ll be right in the middle of the action, working with engineers and programme teams to keep a grip on spend, profitability, forecasting and project delivery. What you’ll actually be doing
You’ll act as the finance partner for a portfolio of engineering and manufacturing programmes, giving project teams the financial clarity they need to make good decisions. That means:
- Tracking project spend vs budget and calling out variances early
- Helping project teams understand profitability, risk and performance
- Producing forward forecasts and contributing to longer-term planning
- Supporting revenue recognition and project margin reporting
- Getting involved in bids and commercial decision-making
- Supporting inventory and project cost control at month-end
- Supporting cost modelling and cost rate decks
- Supporting grant reporting / funding applications where needed
- Supporting development cost capitalisation and R&D related reporting
In short: you’ll be the person who makes sure projects don’t drift financially.

- Strong management accounting or project accounting experience
- Experience in a project-led environment (engineering / manufacturing / R&D is a bonus)

- Solid Excel skills
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (finalists considered)
