Responsibilities:
- Diagnose livestock health issues
- Handle animals
- Monitor animal health
- Treat livestock health issues
- Coordinate and supervise general farm workers and harvesting laborers
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
- Maintain livestock performance records
- Maintain quality control and production records
- Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
- Perform general farm duties
- Feed and tend animals
- Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens
- Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
- Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
- Develop and guide the behavior of farm animals
Qualifications:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years experience in poultry or livestock management
- Experience diagnosing, treating and monitoring livestock health
- Ability to supervise farm workers and laborers
- Knowledge of farm safety and biocontainment
- Strong organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to stand, walk and lift in a fast‑paced environment
