As an award-winning and fast-growing Civil Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy, we are offering an exciting opportunity for motivated Apprentice Civil Engineer s to join our expanding team and gain hands-on experience while completing a Level 6 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship .

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to a diverse range of development and infrastructure projects, helping to shape sustainable communities across the UK.

As an Apprentice Civil Engineer, you will become an integral part of our Civil Engineering team, supporting the design and delivery of a variety of projects while developing the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for a successful engineering career.

• Assist with the design of drainage systems, highways and development infrastructure.
• Support the delivery of Section 278 and Section 38 highway schemes.
• Work closely with developers, architects, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Gain experience using industry-standard design software including AutoCAD , Infodrainage and Site 3D.
• Shadow senior engineers and receive ongoing mentoring and professional development support.
• Contribute to project work across residential, commercial, education and mixed-use developments.
• Develop an understanding of engineering design principles, project management and industry best practice
• Enrolled, or planning to enrol, on a Level 6 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship .
• A genuine passion for Civil Engineering and the built environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• An awareness of health and safety responsibilities.
• An interest in sustainable engineering and infrastructure solutions.
• Previous experience in a professional workplace environment, whether through employment, work experience, internships or placements .
• Experience using AutoCAD or other engineering design software would also be beneficial, although full training and support will be provided.

I started my apprenticeship with Paul Basham Associates in September 2019, with no prior experience as a civil engineer at all. Ever since then I feel I have been progressing my skills and my knowledge well, with on and off the job training; my progress has been primarily thanks to the overwhelming support from the team around me and their willingness to help. I'm looking forward to continually developing my career as a Civil Engineer with Paul Basham Associates and I am excited for what's to come.
