Job Summary:

We are looking to recruit a full time Finance Manager to support the Account Manager and wider group finance team, controlling daily and month-end processes, reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger work.

This role is ideal for someone looking to progress from an Accounts Executive, Finance Exec position into a more managerial role. This role will open a rewarding accounting career with a future opportunity for a Senior Management position.

Key Responsibilities:

β€’ Document Control

β€’ Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll coordination.

β€’ Assist and Compile data in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

β€’ Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate coding of transactions on Sage.

β€’ Provide cover for transactional staff when needed.

β€’ Reconcile Supplier Invoices against Purchase Orders, Deliver Notes.

Supporting – Credit Controller:

β€’ Support with Processing Customer Invoices and Credits.

β€’ Support with Credit Control, Aged Debt Analysis.

β€’ Supporting the Internal Sales and Purchasing teams dealing with customer and supplier queries.

Banking & Reconciliations:

β€’ Perform daily and monthly bank balance sheet reconciliations.

β€’ Reconcile credit card and e-commerce transactions.

β€’ FACFLOW (NatWest) reconciliations.

Accounts Payable / Receivable Oversight

β€’ Maintain Purchase and Sales ledger accounts

VAT and Compliance:

β€’ Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns.

β€’ Ensure compliance with accounting policies, controls, and statutory regulations.

Reporting & Analysis:

β€’ Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and budget tracking.

β€’ Provide financial reports and ad hoc analysis to internal Directors.

Audit & Year-End:

β€’ Support year-end audit activities by preparing schedules and supplying documentation.

β€’ Consult with auditors and respond to audit queries.

Required Skills & Experience:

β€’ AAT Level 4 / ACCA / CIMA qualified.

β€’ Minimum 2–3 years\' experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant).

β€’ Customs Declarations for Import / Export.

β€’ Competent with Sage accounting software.

β€’ Strong Excel skills.

β€’ Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

β€’ Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

β€’ Experience in a wholesale environment.

β€’ Knowledge of UK VAT rules and HMRC compliance.

β€’ Exposure to multi-entity or intercompany accounting.

β€’ Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation. VAT, payroll, and intercompany accounts.
