We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the upkeep of outdoor landscapes and facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge in horticulture and landscape maintenance, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves supervising a variety of groundskeeping activities, ensuring safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality outdoor environments across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily grounds maintenance activities, including landscaping, gardening, and general upkeep.
  • Oversee the operation of mechanical equipment such as excavators, power tools, and irrigation systems.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality.
  • Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify maintenance needs and prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Manage inventory of hand tools, gardening supplies, and construction materials.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on proper use of tools and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan projects involving construction or major landscaping works.
  • Maintain documentation related to maintenance schedules, safety compliance, and equipment servicing.

Experience

  • Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining equipment such as excavators and power tools.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems and their installation or repair.
  • Experience supervising a team within groundskeeping or construction environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to outdoor maintenance work.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team and liaise with other departments.
