Due to business expansion, Pattern Fasteners is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter Operator to join our Sliding Head team. We are a fast-paced precision engineering company, manufacturing a wide range of fasteners and non-standard precision components for industries where quality and reliability are critical. All production is completed in-house, using advanced CNC technology and traditional methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate Citizen Sliding Head & Fixed Head CNC lathes (L20s, L32s – including LFV)
  • Set and operate Miyano Fixed Head CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
  • Program CNC machines for new jobs using existing G-code templates
  • Change tips, drills, tools, and inserts to maintain machine performance
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Perform first-off inspections and measure parts using vernier calipers, micrometers, ring gauges, and shadowgraphs
  • Follow production job card system and maintain production documentation
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer/Setter, CNC Operator, or Sliding Head Setter
  • Strong knowledge of Citizen sliding head or fixed head lathes and Miyano fixed head lathes
  • Competence with Fanuc controls and ability to edit and optimise G-code
  • Ability to work with tight tolerances across a variety of metals
  • Good understanding of precision engineering and lean manufacturing principles
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment and following quality procedures
  • A methodical, detail-oriented approach and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
