Built your career in IP or Life Sciences and increasingly excited by what's possible with AI? Want to move beyond a traditional analyst, implementation or solutions role and help shape how AI is actually used across IP, R&D and Life Sciences? Enjoy taking complex customer problems, getting hands-on, and turning them into a solution that actually works? If this sounds like your next move, we'd love to hear from you.
Role Summary: We have an exciting role for an AI Product Engineer (IP + Life Sciences) to sit beside our enterprise customers and turn AI-native capability into real outcomes across IP, R&D, and life sciences workflows. This is a rare hybrid role. You sit at the intersection of a technical domain - patents or life sciences - and applied AI. You are the bridge between how the customer actually works and the AI that is about to change it. This is a domain-expert delivery role, not a pure software job - and not a legal one. You do not need to be a software engineer or a qualified attorney. You do need real subject-matter grounding in IP and/or life sciences, a product instinct, and as much hands-on AI experience as you can bring.
The kind of background we have in mind - there's no single path, but the strongest candidates often started as a patent analyst or searcher, a life-sciences or pharma data analyst, or in an implementation / solution-delivery role - somewhere you've had to learn a domain deeply, wrangle messy data, and work directly with customers. If you've since started building with AI and want to make that a much bigger part of your career, you're exactly who we want to talk to.
We're deliberately looking for someone earlier in their career who is curious, technical enough to build, comfortable working directly with customers, and eager to own outcomes end to end.
This is a hybrid position in our London, UK office, working 1-2 days in the office and the rest from home.

You own the last mile - the point where AI capability becomes a result the customer can act on. If you know a domain, love building with AI, and want to deliver outcomes rather than hand over software, this is the seat. See your work make an impact quickly. Build prototypes in days, put them in front of customers, learn from the feedback and iterate. Work with some of the world's leading innovators. You'll solve problems for enterprise IP, R&D and Life Sciences teams using PatSnap every day. Help shape the product. You'll bring customer insight directly into Product and Engineering, helping turn individual use cases into capabilities we can scale. Develop a unique combination of skills. Build your experience across AI, product, customer delivery and your specialist domain without having to follow a traditional software engineering path. Join at an exciting point in our growth. We're investing heavily in AI and building the next generation of products for IP, R&D and Life Sciences professionals.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their IP, R&D or Life Sciences workflows and translate pain points into practical AI solutions.
- Configure and deploy AI Agent workflows, Skills, dashboards, reports and automations on PatSnap's platform.
- Build customer-facing demos and working prototypes using the customer's own data and business context.
