About Us: PW-A is a design-led RIBA Chartered Practice based in Wigan, with a focus on architecture that is thoughtful, contextual, and crafted with care. We specialise in conservation, adaptive reuse, and community-focused projects – creating places with meaning, character, and longevity. Our work spans residential, heritage, ecclesiastical, and development projects, often unlocking value in underused or overlooked spaces. From community hubs to sensitive restorations and modern homes, we approach each project with a belief that architecture should serve its users and enrich its setting.

The Role: We are looking for a talented and motivated architect to join our close-knit team. The role is suited to someone who shares our values – client-focused, detail-oriented, and context-aware – and is looking to take an active role in the delivery of thoughtful architecture.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and delivering projects from early concept through to completion
  • Engaging with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure a collaborative process
  • Working across a mix of project types, including residential, heritage, and community buildings
  • Contributing to the studio’s design culture and evolving ways of working
  • Helping to shape places that are sustainable, meaningful, and rooted in their context

What we’re looking for:

  • ARB-registered architect
  • Knowledge or interest in conservation and working with existing buildings
  • A thoughtful design approach and ability to communicate ideas clearly
  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • A team player with initiative and a genuine interest in contributing to a small, growing practice

What we offer:

  • A meaningful role in a respected, design-led practice
  • Opportunities for responsibility and career growth
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • CPD sessions and support for professional development
  • A calm, collaborative studio environment in the heart of Wigan
  • The chance to work on projects that make a lasting impact

How to Apply: Please send your CV, a brief cover letter, and a portfolio (PDF, max 10MB) to contact@pw-a.com. We are currently recruiting for multiple roles, so please indicate clearly which position you’re applying for. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Note: PW-A does not hold a Skilled Worker visa sponsorship licence. We look forward to hearing from you.
