School Administrative Assistant

Grade: 4, Point 7

Salary: £25,514

Contract: Full-time / Permanent, 32.5 hours per week

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Start Date: November 2026

Location: Pathways School, Barking and Dagenham, RM10 9NH

Responsibilities

  • You will effectively support the running of the school office through a range of administrative duties, including answering the phones and face‑to‑face meetings as a first point of contact.
  • The position will involve liaison with the Office Manager and the Senior Operations Manager to help maintain smooth office operations and implement new ideas that positively impact the school's functioning.

Vetting and Experience

  • This role is suited for candidates who have good interpersonal and presentation skills, office management experience, and are self‑directed with strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience within an educational setting
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, Excel and Bromcom
  • Experience using database management systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Experience of examinations at Secondary Level/SATs systems and procedures desirable
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent ability to produce high quality reports and correspondence to stakeholders
  • Ability to uphold the values of the trust and the standards and expectations of the organisation
