At Pathways Learning Centre, we are looking for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD). This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils at pivotal moments in their education, helping them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop the skills they need for life beyond the classroom. The role is to work flexibly across key stages, working with a class or group of students under the direction of the class teacher and/or Intervention Manager.
What you'll have:
- Creativity in the way you work and able to support students with a range of SEND needs
- Experience of working with students in an educational setting
- Training and/or experience in specialist social and emotional intervention work such as ELSA, Thrive and therapeutic Mentoring would be an advantage
- Enthusiasm and commitment to enable students to access the curriculum
- The ability to work in partnership with teachers to facilitate student learning
- The ability to ensure that the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of individual students enhances their learning and life skills
Pathways Learning Centre provides short stay education and therapeutic support for students between Key Stage 1 – 4 who are unable to access mainstream provision for a variety of reasons. The successful applicant will join a dynamic, enthusiastic team, totally committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable students in South Gloucestershire.
