Solicitor Motor & Casualty, Belfast, £Neg Overview Pathway is delighted to be recruiting for a Solicitor to join a well-established and growing Motor & Casualty team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with 03 years PQE who is interested in developing their career within insurance defence litigation. You will manage a varied caseload of litigated motor injury, fraud and credit hire matters within the County Court jurisdiction, working alongside an experienced and supportive team.
Previous defendant insurance litigation or credit hire experience would be advantageous, but is not essential, making this an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with strong litigation experience who is keen to develop within this specialist area. Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of motor insurance defence litigation matters from instruction through to conclusion. Handle cases proactively and identify the appropriate next steps in line with client requirements and agreed authority levels. Liaise professionally with insurer clients, policyholders, witnesses, third parties and other relevant stakeholders. Interview witnesses and prepare detailed witness statements. Draft pleadings, applications and other court documentation.
Instruct counsel and attend conferences, consultations and mediations, both remotely and in person. Attend court hearings, trials and settlement conferences as required. Provide clear and commercially focused advice to clients throughout the lifecycle of a claim. Work towards agreed performance targets, service levels and quality standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records and management information. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Law Society of Northern Ireland regulations.
Essential Skills and Experience Qualified Solicitor with approximately 03 years PQE. A strong understanding of litigation practice, procedure, relevant case law and Court Rules. Previous experience within defendant insurance litigation would be advantageous but is not essential. Previous exposure to credit hire matters would be beneficial but is not essential.

Ability to manage and prioritise a busy caseload effectively. Comfortable working to deadlines, targets and agreed service levels. Confident, proactive and able to use initiative.
