A growing insurance litigation team is seeking a newly qualified to 2 years PQE Solicitor to join their Motor team in Belfast. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of litigated Credit Hire and Personal Injury Motor cases across County Court and High Court jurisdictions. The role offers exposure to a range of cases and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise within insurance defence litigation. The team is supportive and collaborative, with a strong focus on personal development, career progression, and wellbeing. Hybrid working and flexible working arrangements are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of Credit Hire and Personal Injury Motor claims from instruction through to resolution
- Handling litigated matters in line with client instructions and agreed authority
- Communicating professionally with clients, colleagues and third parties including insurers, insured parties, and witnesses
- Interviewing witnesses and drafting statements
- Drafting pleadings and court applications
- Instructing counsel and attending consultations, conferences, mediations, and trials both remotely and in person
- Proactively identifying next steps and progressing cases efficiently
- Maintaining case management systems with accurate and up-to-date records
- Ensuring compliance with professional regulations and internal procedures
Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualified Solicitor in Northern Ireland with up to 2 years PQE
- Experience in defence insurance litigation is desirable but not essential
- Good telephone advocacy and client care skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
- Confident, proactive, and adaptable
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Proficient IT skills

Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm with one hour for lunch
