Pathway is delighted to be working with a busy and well-established Belfast City Centre law firm in the recruitment of an experienced Legal Secretary to provide dedicated one-to-one support to an Associate Solicitor specialising in Probate, Wills and Trusts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Secretary who already has experience within probate and private client work and would enjoy working closely with an experienced solicitor, providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support across a busy caseload.

The firm is ideally seeking someone on a full-time basis; however, there is flexibility for the right candidate. They will consider five days per week with one day working from home, or alternatively, an experienced candidate seeking a four-day working week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated one-to-one secretarial and administrative support to the Associate Solicitor.
  • Assisting with a busy caseload covering probate, wills, trusts and related private client matters.
  • Preparing and formatting legal correspondence and documentation.
  • Audio and copy typing to a high standard.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, beneficiaries and other third parties.
  • Managing diaries, appointments and key dates.
  • Opening, maintaining and closing client files.
  • Assisting with probate documentation and the administration of estates.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally and sensitively.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring files are kept organised and up to date.
  • Providing general administrative support as required.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary within Probate, Wills and/or Trusts is essential.
  • A good understanding of probate processes and the administration of estates.
  • Strong legal typing and document preparation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Professional and confident communication skills.
  • A discreet and sensitive approach when dealing with clients, particularly in relation to bereavement and estate matters.
  • Comfortable working closely on a one-to-one basis with a solicitor.
