About the Role

We are looking for a committed and adaptable Core Subject Tutor to deliver English, Maths and Science to students in an alternative provision setting. This role involves working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis, supporting young people who may have experienced barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across English, Maths and Science (KS3/KS4)
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual needs
  • Support students with SEMH and additional needs
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records
  • Build positive relationships to support engagement and behaviour

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in education or alternative provision
  • Ability to deliver core subjects confidently
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A patient, resilient and flexible approach
  • Teaching qualification or relevant degree
  • Experience with SEN/SEMH learners
  • Background in alternative provision
