A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Defence Litigation & Recoveries Solicitor to join its established Belfast team.

The successful candidate will ideally have

3–7 years’ PQE , with strong experience in defence litigation and recoveries , ideally gained within an insurance or defendant litigation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload of defence litigation and recovery matters
  • Handling insurance defence, civil litigation and recovery claims
  • Managing claims from inception through to resolution
  • Advising clients throughout the litigation process
  • Drafting pleadings, court documentation, affidavits and interlocutory applications
  • Conducting litigation across the High Court, County Court and Small Claims Court
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and other third parties
  • Conducting settlement negotiations and progressing matters to resolution
  • Providing regular updates and reports to clients
  • Managing a busy caseload effectively and working to deadlines
  • Working collaboratively as part of an established specialist litigation team

Essential Skills

  • Qualified Solicitor with
  • 3–7 years’ PQE
  • Strong experience in defence litigation and/or recoveries
  • Experience within insurance, civil litigation or defendant litigation
  • Excellent knowledge of litigation procedures and court processes
  • Strong drafting and client management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
  • Commercial approach with strong attention to detail
