A leading global legal services provider is seeking a talented Litigation Solicitor from Associate through to Senior Associate level to join its Major Injury & Casualty Claims team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, award-winning litigation team handling high-quality, complex defendant work. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of litigated EL/PL, casualty, disease, and personal/serious injury claims, working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The role offers exposure to high-value, complex litigation and the opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues across a wider integrated legal services platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Caseload Management
- Managing a varied caseload of litigated EL/PL, casualty, disease, and personal/serious injury claims from inception to resolution
- Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in line with client expectations and regulatory requirements
- Litigation Work
- Conducting investigations including evidence gathering, witness interviews, and liaison with medical and technical experts
- Drafting and reviewing pleadings, witness statements, settlement agreements, and other legal documentation
- Representing clients in court proceedings and settlement negotiations
- Client Care and Advisory
- Providing clear, strategic legal advice to clients throughout the litigation process
- Ensuring high levels of client service and commercially focused outcomes
- Team Collaboration
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider team to deliver integrated legal solutions
- Sharing knowledge and contributing to team development and best practice
- Compliance and Technical Excellence
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and procedural developments
- Ensuring full compliance with all professional and regulatory standards
Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualified Solicitor with 3-10+ years PQE in litigation
- Strong background in EL/PL, casualty, disease, personal injury, serious injury or complex loss work (defendant experience desirable but not essential)
- Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong commitment to client service and delivering high-quality outcomes
