Who We Are: PathoQuest, a spin out of Institut Pasteur, offers innovative Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based solutions for the Quality Control of biologics and the diagnosis of infectious diseases. The company's Biologics Genomic Service focuses on providing Quality Control testing to biotech and biopharma companies for the rapidly growing areas of cell and gene therapies and viral safety testing for vaccines. PathoQuest is at the forefront of providing NGS-based testing solutions which will replace current standardized in vivo and in vitro testing options because NGS is faster, more robust and does not require the use of animals. Based in Paris, France, PathoQuest has established a U.S. subsidiary and is expanding its capabilities by implementing a state-of-the-art testing facility at its location near Philadelphia. The company also has a strong strategic partnership with Charles River Laboratories (CRL), a leading provider of preclinical and clinical laboratory services for the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology industries.
PathoQuest is looking to hire a 100% remote sales manager to cover the European region. The Sales Manager’s principal mission will be to reach quarterly and annual sales targets through closing incremental business with both existing and new accounts. Accordingly, responsibilities will include:
- Manage leads and opportunities (and provide accurate sales forecasts) via the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Prior experience with SalesForce.com is preferred but not mandatory.
- Identify new potential prospects and convert to new customers (target identification and decision makers) within the territory assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer.
- Work to thoroughly understand customers’ needs and decision-making processes.
- Create quotes and actively present to the customers.
- Diligently follow up in a timely manner, work through objections, negotiate and close the business opportunity.
- Prepare customer confidentiality agreements (CDAs) and Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and present them to the General Manager.
- Answer commercial requests via phone, video conference or by email.
- Create and execute an annual sales plan with updates based on the current organizational business strategy.
- Participate in the definition of commercial and sales strategy.
- Identify new potential markets for selling products, develop new profit and revenue streams, and develop lists of potential prospects.
- Further development of existing customers within defined territory.
- Represent PathoQuest at conferences, workshops and other business events to strengthen PathoQuest’s reputation within the market.
- Coordinate and carry out regular customer visits.
- Evaluate future market considerations for bioproduction business and suggest changes to improve the company’s commercial offering.
- Work with the science and technology team to assist in the development of PathoQuest’s offerings.
- Support the development of promotional materials and marketing strategy.
- Monitor the competition and provide feedback to Marketing and CCO on a monthly basis.
- Participate in internal global sales events and meetings.
- This position entails an estimated 40% to 50% of business travel for client visits, conferences, company sponsored events, etc.
Qualifications and skills Required:
- Bachelors’ degree in a science discipline – Chemistry, Biology, etc.
- Strong self-starter with a consultative selling approach.
- Proven sales track record (5 to 10 years) in selling services to the pharmaceutical industry (including CDMO’s).
- Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment as a part of a team whilst contributing to the development of PathoQuest’s business and processes.
- Ability to work independently/remote.
Nice to have:
- Technical expertise in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
- Experience in biologics with a thorough knowledge of bioprocessing including monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, oncolytic viruses, cell and gene therapy.
- Experience in a GMP regulated environment.
- Knowledge of industry practice in Quality Control testing environment.
