About the role
You’ll maintain, repair and improve manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient production. Working with the production team, you’ll diagnose faults, minimise downtime, complete planned maintenance and drive continuous improvement. A good understanding of PLCs and strong problem-solving skills are required.
Shift pattern
Panama shift, days and nights, averaging 3.5 days per week.

From REME to Engineering Manager: a journey of transition and growth
My career began in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), where I developed technical skills, leadership experience and the ability to perform under pressure. Those foundations have stayed with me throughout my career and continue to influence how I lead today.
When I left the Armed Forces and moved into the food manufacturing industry, I quickly discovered that the transition wasn’t always straightforward. Adapting to a different working environment, understanding commercial priorities and translating military experience into language that civilian employers recognised all took time and determination.
Today, I am proud to be Engineering Manager at Jordans Cereals in Biggleswade. Looking back, I can see how valuable my military experience has been. The leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and resilience developed through service are all highly transferable and sought after by employers.
