The initiative also sits alongside PATH's broader digital health portfolio, including its work on climate and health data services and digital financial inclusion, bringing a technology-forward perspective to a wide range of global challenges.

The Senior Adviser is a versatile, high-impact role that sits at the centre of the AI initiative's leadership. Working directly alongside the Chief AI Officer, you will operate across three interconnected areas:

  • Communications and External Engagement (~40%)
    • Develop and deliver a communications strategy for the AI initiative's project portfolio, ensuring that the team's work is visible, well-understood, and compellingly presented to donors, partners, and the wider global health community.
    • Lead the production of high-quality communications outputs across the portfolio, including project briefs, one-pagers, case studies, blog posts, newsletter content, and social media assets.
    • Coordinate with PATH's central communications team and relevant project leads to ensure consistent messaging and branding across the initiative.
    • Support the planning and execution of external engagement activities, such as events, webinars, and panel participations.
    • Monitor the external landscape for relevant developments, publications, and media opportunities, and advise the Chief AI Officer on proactive engagement.
  • Strategic & Operational Support (~33%)
    • Serve as a trusted operational partner to the Chief AI Officer, helping ensure the initiative runs effectively day to day.
    • Coordinating across the AI leadership team to keep priorities aligned and information flowing.
    • Supporting the planning and facilitation of team retreats, away days, and other strategic convenings.
    • Helping to manage the initiative's internal control environment.
    • Drafting agendas, capturing actions, and following up on decisions from leadership meetings.
  • Project Management for High-Profile Initiatives (~33%)
    • Take direct project management responsibility for discrete, high-profile initiatives led by or closely involving the Chief AI Officer.
    • Define scope, develop workplans, manage timelines, coordinate contributors, and ensure quality delivery.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on initiatives you are managing.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field, such as public health, international development, public policy, science communication, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, with a demonstrable track record across at least two of the following: strategic communications, project management, and operational/programme coordination.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce polished, donor-ready materials under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in or with large, complex, international organisations (nonprofit, multilateral, or government).
  • A versatile operator who thrives on variety and takes pride in making the people around you more effective.
  • Strong communications instincts to tell a compelling story about complex, technical work.
  • Good judgement and discretion when working closely with senior leaders.
  • Ability to get things done in complex environments, navigating institutional processes effectively.
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn enough to communicate and manage effectively across diverse portfolios.
