The Role
As a Tender Manager, you will take ownership of the full tender and bid process, working closely with sales teams, customers, stakeholders and internal departments to develop compelling, compliant and commercially focused submissions. You will review and analyse tender documentation, identify key requirements, coordinate responses and ensure submissions are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines. Working closely with sales, product and technical teams, the Tender Manager will help develop tailored solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting wider commercial objectives. This is a diverse role combining tender management, bid writing, project coordination, product management, stakeholder engagement and commercial support. You will be responsible for coordinating multiple workstreams, ensuring the relevant teams are aligned and that customer, product and commercial requirements are understood and addressed throughout the tender process. The Tender Manager will also contribute to cost evaluation, risk assessment, solution development and project coordination, working alongside sales and internal teams to ensure opportunities are progressed effectively from initial tender through to successful submission and beyond. A typical day could involve reviewing a new public-sector tender, working with the sales team to establish the commercial approach, coordinating technical and product information, engaging with customers and stakeholders, managing internal project requirements and ensuring the final submission is accurate, compelling and commercially focused.
The Person
We are looking for a highly organised, commercially focused professional who enjoys taking ownership, managing multiple priorities and working collaboratively across a business. You will ideally have experience in tender management, bid writing, procurement, project management, sales support or a related commercial environment, with an understanding of public-sector tender processes. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are important, alongside excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively. You will be confident working with different teams and stakeholders, able to understand customer requirements and translate them into clear, commercially viable solutions. An engineering background or strong technical understanding would be advantageous, particularly experience working with technical products or solutions, but this is not essential. Most importantly, you will be commercially aware, curious, highly organised and confident working closely with sales teams, customers, stakeholders and internal departments.
