About the Role:

As a Workshop Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day running of a busy heavy plant workshop in Cannock, supervising a team of six engineers. Your responsibilities will include allocating workloads, monitoring repair progress, inspecting completed work and identifying any training or development requirements within the team. You will also remain hands-on, carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy plant equipment. The role will involve ordering parts, supporting recruitment when additional engineers are required and ensuring the workshop operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Supervisor who enjoys combining team leadership with hands-on heavy plant engineering.

About You:

To succeed as a Workshop Supervisor, you will need:

  • Previous experience supervising or managing a heavy plant equipment workshop
  • Proven experience leading a team of engineers
  • Strong hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant
  • Experience allocating workloads and monitoring repair progress
  • The ability to identify training and development requirements
  • Experience ordering parts and managing workshop requirements
  • Previous involvement in recruiting engineers is advantageous
  • A valid CSCS Card
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • A practical, hands-on approach to plant engineering
  • Previous supervisory experience within a heavy plant workshop is essential.
