We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing plant hire business with an excellent reputation for maintaining high-quality equipment and supporting its engineering team. Due to continued growth, we are now looking to recruit both a workshop-based Plant Engineer and a mobile Plant Engineer to join the team in Cannock. About the Role
As a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of plant machinery including dumpers, rollers, and excavators. The workshop-based Plant Engineer will carry out repairs and maintenance from the Cannock depot, while the mobile Plant Engineer will attend customer sites to diagnose faults and complete servicing and repairs.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive repairs
- Diagnosing hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical faults
- Inspecting and testing plant equipment
- Completing service reports and repair documentation
- Ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard
- Supporting customers and colleagues professionally at all times
About You
To be successful in this Plant Engineer role, you should have previous experience working on plant machinery such as excavators, dumpers, rollers, or similar equipment. We welcome applications from engineers with workshop or field service backgrounds.
You may have:
- Previous plant engineering experience
- Mechanical, hydraulic, and fault-finding skills
- Experience working within plant hire, construction, agriculture, or related industries
- A full UK driving licence for the mobile Plant Engineer role
