We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a welcoming, organised and professional School Receptionist to become the friendly face at the heart of our School Office. As the first point of contact for visitors, parents/carers, students and staff, you will play a vital role in creating a positive first impression of the school while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of a busy and varied environment.
In this key role, you will manage reception duties including phone calls, emails, visitor sign in and message distribution, as well as supporting students with first aid needs, lost property and uniform loans. You will also take responsibility for the school’s reprographics service.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a calm and approachable manner, and the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team. You will be methodical, discreet and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to providing an excellent service to all who visit the School Office. This is a permanent, term time only post working 25 hours per week, ideally over 5 days.
Core Responsibilities- Be the face of the school, acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, contractors, students and parents/carers, greeting them in a friendly, professional manner.
- Adhere to the signing in process for visitors and contractors ensuring the correct lanyards are issued, providing supervision as necessary.
- Answer external and internal phone calls, dealing with requests and enquiries, taking messages as required.
- In collaboration with the rest of the School Office team, answer incoming emails to the School Office.
- Ensure the prompt delivery of all messages between staff, parents/carers and students.
- Distribution of all incoming deliveries, to include, but not limited to, post and parcels as required.
- Be the first point of contact for reprographics, operating the school’s reprographic machinery to produce high-quality printed materials as requested by staff.
- Use associated equipment including collating machines, ring-binders, laminators, and staplers to create professionally finished documents.
