Nova Cement is a new company in Glasgow, specialising in the import and handling of cementitious products. We are establishing a cutting-edge cement terminal to serve the growing demand in the Scottish market.

We are seeking a proactive trainee operative, you will be part of a small team and ensure the safe and efficient operation of unloading imported cementitious ships, loading out of flat stores in to day silos, and subsequently to road tankers.

Working a mixed roster of days and on several occasion in a year – nights, this position offers an excellent work-life balance.

Training will be provided for this role.

Reporting:

The operator will report directly to the supervisor.

Responsibilities:

· Operate all operational aspects of the cementitious products terminal, including bulk ship handling, product storage and handling, equipment maintenance, and upkeep.

· Oversee the safe and efficient unloading of imported cementitious products ships.

· Maintain the highest standards of health and safety

· Collaborate with the Terminal Supervisor to implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimise terminal efficiency and systems.

· Maintain accurate records of terminal operations, including inventory levels, product quality, and equipment performance.

· Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritise equipment maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications:

· Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently and effectively.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally.

· Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

· Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

· Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
