Salary: Circa £28,000 and benefits package, dependent on experience

Location: Office base, Gateshead NE8 3BP

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: Normal hours of work are 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) with an unpaid break of 1 hour for lunch. There will be a requirement to work occasional evenings and weekends to provide out-of-hours IT maintenance and support.

Training and certification support aligned to the role.

Full-time holiday entitlement is 25 days per year, plus the bank and public holidays.

We have two operating divisions in the lubricants business in the UK - Morris Lubricants in Shrewsbury and GB Lubricants in Gateshead. Morris Leisure consists of seven caravan holiday home and touring parks in Shropshire and North Wales. The company currently employs around 240 employees and our head office is based in the centre of Shrewsbury.

About GB Lubricants: GB Lubricants is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality lubricants. As part of our wider group of companies, we are committed to operational excellence and customer service. The IT function underpins our manufacturing, distribution and commercial operations by providing secure, reliable and responsive technology services.

The Role: Based at GB Lubricants in Gateshead and reporting to the Group IT Manager (based in Shrewsbury), you will deliver first to third line support to business users at GB Lubricants, ensuring incidents and requests are resolved quickly and effectively. Alongside user support, you will administer and improve the local network and core infrastructure, and collaborate with the group IT team to maintain shared standards, security controls and service levels across the group. This is a hands-on role that blends daily support with proactive network, systems and security administration.

Preferred Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Experience with Windows 11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, MS Office, Exchange, SQL, VMware, Hyper-V, Veeam, SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Adaptable, flexible and trustworthy.
  • 2 years previous experience in an IT Support role.
  • Knowledge of networking principles including switching, VLANs, wireless and VPN.
  • Exposure to manufacturing or logistics environments.
  • CompTIA Security +
  • Microsoft Certifications.
  • Full UK driving licence.
