The role will suit someone with strong hydraulic understanding, practical design experience, and the ability to guide engineering work through multiple project phases.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design and analysis at various project levels (i.e., PFS, FS, detailed) of slurry, water, and concentrate transport systems.

- Lead technical reviews, hazard reviews and design workshops.
- Support implementation, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting for new and existing systems.
- Lead the preparation of proposals, reports, and technical presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal pipeline engineering capability.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, new technologies, and relevant standards affecting pipeline design and operation.
- Represent Paterson & Cooke in professional forums, conferences, or technical collaborations, as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements and Competencies:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the design and operation of slurry, tailings, water or similar pipeline systems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic design, fluid flow and pipeline system behaviour.
- Experience delivering engineering work across feasibility studies and detailed design phases.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Practical, analytical and delivery-focused approach to engineering problems.
- Experience leading technical workstreams or small engineering teams.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and project support.
For the right candidate, a flexible remote working arrangement may be considered, with regular attendance in the UK office as required.
