About The Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive
Training Coordinator to join our Edinburgh bakery team.
In this key role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking all training activities for our weekly paid employees, ensuring colleagues have the skills and knowledge needed to perform safely and effectively.
Working closely with managers and operational teams, you will oversee the end-to-end training journey for new starters, from onboarding and induction through to competency sign-off.
You will maintain training records, monitor compliance, coordinate development plans, and ensure all required training is completed within agreed timescales.

- Main Responsibilities
- Review daily and weekly labour demand plans to identify training requirements and support workforce planning.
- Maintain and update training plans and competency matrices across all bakery departments, ensuring employees are trained, assessed, and signed off appropriately.
- Conduct regular check-ins with trainees to monitor progress, provide support, and ensure completion of development milestones.
- Create, manage, and continuously improve training checklists, competency assessments, and sign-off documentation.
- Deliver compliance and mandatory training programmes, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the review, tracking, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the bakery.
- Coordinate and oversee training programmes for new starters, ensuring all onboarding and probationary training requirements are completed within agreed timescales.
- Ensure all training, induction, and competency records are accurately maintained and submitted for filing and audit purposes.
- Prepare and deliver training updates, reports, and presentations to managers and key stakeholders as required.
- Act as the training representative during internal and external audits, presenting training records, systems, and compliance evidence with confidence and professionalism.
Who We Are Looking For
- FMCG Experience – Previous experience working within a fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environment would be desirable.
- Workforce Planning – Proven experience in labour planning, scheduling, and resource management to support operational requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
- Planning & Organisation – Strong organisational skills with experience coordinating training, labour schedules, or operational activities while managing competing priorities.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency – Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word, with the ability to produce reports, presentations, and maintain accurate records.
- People-Focused Approach – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and engage employees at all levels.
- Attention to Detail – Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with experience maintaining training records, updating databases, and producing management reports.
- Presentation & Facilitation Skills – Confident presenter with the ability to deliver training sessions and communicate information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Adaptability & Change Management – Flexible and resilient, with the ability to adapt priorities, communication styles, and workloads to meet changing business needs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
