About The Role
12 - 18 MONTH FTC
As a Material Planner at our Livingston bakery, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring exceptional Finished Goods service levels by maintaining optimal stock availability to meet production plans. Your focus will be on striking the right balance—ensuring sufficient materials are ready to support uninterrupted manufacturing, while avoiding over-stocking that can lead to obsolescence and unnecessary storage costs. Adherence to the Business Change Management process is essential, ensuring consistency, control, and accuracy in all planning activities. Working within the Site Planning function, you’ll have visibility across the full spectrum of business supply, demand, and NPD activity. This role is highly collaborative, involving frequent interaction with suppliers, project managers, marketing teams, site operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment and execution of planning requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver key Customer Service and Conformance to Plan targets, ensuring production is fully supported at all times.
- Own the SAP MRP and material ordering processes, ensuring accurate planning, adherence to lead times, and uninterrupted supply to the production schedule.
- Maintain full accountability for contract fulfilment activities within SAP.
- Work collaboratively across Procurement, Project Management, Operations, and with external suppliers to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
- Maintain optimal stock levels of material goods, ensuring availability while preventing excess and obsolescence.
- Respond effectively to short-notice changes in production plans and communicate updates clearly to all relevant stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of NPD activities, ensuring timely material availability and alignment with launch timelines.
Who We Are Looking For
- Strong knowledge of MRP principles, with experience using SAP highly advantageous.
- Experience in customer-facing roles is desirable, demonstrating confidence in managing expectations and building strong relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse and interpret data effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently.
- Highly numerate with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Able to work at pace, managing pressure and tight deadlines without compromising accuracy.
- Skilled at prioritising workload to balance short-term demands with long-term planning.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across all planning activities.
- Results-driven, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
