We’re looking for a Labour Analyst to join our Batley bakery. As Labour Analyst you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely management of workforce data, including absence and employee movements, ensuring attendance information is correctly maintained for payroll processing. You’ll also support the monitoring and control of labour costs and contribute to the delivery of payroll and HR administration services across FBC UK, in line with legal requirements and company policies.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate workforce and time & attendance data, including headcount, FTE, absence, overtime, agency usage, cost centres and employee movements, ensuring payroll readiness and data integrity.
- Resolve daily time and attendance exceptions for factory-based colleagues, coordinating closely with Payroll, Time & Attendance and HR teams.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc labour reporting and analysis (hours, absence, forecasts vs. actuals, risk hours, PP exposure), highlighting trends, issues and opportunities.
- Analyse labour costs and productivity drivers, supporting budget management, cost control, forecasting and corrective actions.
- Support workforce planning activities, including shift coverage, capacity planning and demand forecasting.
- Provide accurate labour reporting for plant production functions, ensuring data is fit for payroll review, audit and management decision-making.
- Coordinate agency timesheets and new starter system access, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Partner with Operations, Plant Planning, HR and Finance to communicate processes, support system changes, drive continuous improvement and deliver training where required.
- Identify opportunities for system optimisation and efficiency improvements within time, attendance and labour reporting processes, supporting ongoing enhancements.
Who We Are Looking For
- Experience working with workforce, labour, payroll or time & attendance data, ideally in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- A strong eye for detail and a good understanding of time, attendance and payroll processes.
- Comfortable producing labour reports and analysing trends, variances and anomalies.
- Experience comparing forecasted versus actual hours and supporting labour cost control.
- Confident working with Payroll, HR, Operations and Planning in a fast-paced environment.
- Systems-savvy, with experience using HR, payroll or time management systems.
- Clear communicator with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
