Join a fast‑growing innovator at the intersection of law and AI. Patently is transforming how organisations understand and act on patent intelligence. We blend powerful AI with intuitive design to help IP teams, lawyers, engineers, and business leaders make smarter decisions, faster.
We’re growing quickly, and we’re looking for our first dedicated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help us scale. This is a rare chance to join an early‑stage, high‑growth team where your impact will be visible from day one.
At Patently, we value integrity, leadership, openness, growth, innovation and a relentless customer focus.
The role
As our SDR, you’ll be the first point of contact for organisations exploring Patently. You’ll create new opportunities, open new conversations, and help build the engine that powers our growth. Think of this as a founding SDR role- you’ll work closely with our Head of Sales, learn the product inside‑out, and help shape how we reach the market.
For someone ambitious, curious, and hungry to build a sales career, this is an outstanding platform.
What you’ll do
- Reach out to prospects across engineering, tech, telecoms, and IP‑led industries.
- Generate qualified leads and book high‑quality product trials and demos.
- Learn how to speak confidently about a complex, technical product — with full training and support.
- Build market understanding and territory insight; own your own pipeline.
- Work closely with sales leadership on messaging, outreach, and strategy.
What we’re looking for
- A degree in engineering, science, law or another technical field.
- Experience in B2B sales, lead generation, or customer-facing roles (nice to have).
- Motivated, proactive and eager to learn.
- Comfortable with a fast pace and a high‑activity role.
- Curious about technology, innovation, patents, and how AI is reshaping these fields.
- Resilient- this is a numbers‑driven role, and that’s part of the challenge and the reward.
- Importantly you will have a positive attitude, drive, and the ability to understand technical ideas and communicate them simply.
What you’ll gain
- A clear route to becoming an Account Executive - typically within 18–24 months for strong performers.
- Hands‑on coaching from experienced sales leaders.
- The chance to grow with a category‑defining product as AI changes the legal and IP landscape.
- Experience selling into sophisticated, technically‑minded customer groups — a valuable long‑term career skill.
Rewards
- Competitive base salary.
- High, uncapped commission- your success directly drives your earnings.
- Additional commission linked to closed‑deal value.
- 25 days’ annual leave + bank holidays.
- Private healthcare, pension, hybrid working, Perkbox, cycle‑to‑work scheme and more.
Why now?
AI is reshaping the legal and IP world at speed. Joining Patently now means you’ll be part of that shift — helping customers navigate a new era of data‑driven decision‑making. You’ll build skills in one of the fastest‑growing corners of the tech sector while playing a key role in a company that’s scaling rapidly.
