The predicted salary is between 24000 - 30000 £ per year.

Location: Waste Transfer Station, Lotland Street, Inverness

Working Hours: Mon-Fri (depending on workloads) with a guaranteed 39 hour per week minimum. This position involves early starts of 4am due to restrictions on working hours in the town centre.

Duration: Permanent

Holidays: 6 weeks per year

Probationary Period: 3 months from commencement

Core Functions of Role:

  • Carry out collections on our daily bin route.
  • Work alongside the driver to take the bins to the vehicle and attach to the bin lifting mechanism for tipping, then return the bin to the customers' chosen storage area.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, carrying out manual labour ensuring that pedestrian and traffic safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Carry out general Waste Operative duties at the waste transfer station as and when required during any downtime.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Waste Operations Manager.
  • Ensure all relevant Pat Munro procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist the driver to ensure the efficient, safe, and economic running of the bin lorry.
  • Carry out instruction from the Driver and Waste Operations Manager.
  • Collection and Delivery of Bins at customer properties.
  • Assist the driver using hand signals whilst manoeuvring the vehicle when required.
  • Reporting of missed collections, access issues and overweight bins.
  • Recording collections and weights using onboard electronic equipment.
  • Undertake general waste operative duties including waste segregation and associated site cleaning duties.
